All
air tanks are designed with a drain valve, to allow for the removal of water and other condensates that collect in
the tank as a course of normal operations.
On most compressors the tank is equipped with a manual drain fitting
located on the bottom of the tank. If
you drain the tank on a regular basis, as you should, this fitting will
eventually wear out or break. When this
happens we can offer you a few different options for repair. We carry several different styles of Manual
Drain Valve Fittings, for a fairly cheap and easy fix. As a more convenient upgrade we sell a couple
different Air-Operated Tank Drain Valves and we also have electric, Timer Controlled Drain Units.
The
Air-Operated Tank Drain Valve is a device which automatically allows the
tank to drain for a few seconds each time the compressor starts, stops or unloads. It eliminates the hassle of manually opening
the drain valve, which should, in most cases, be done on a daily basis. We stock the Kingston 620-3
and the Conrader WV-1
valves. We can supply the valve alone
or in a kit with all the necessary parts to do the installation.
The
electric, Timer Controlled Condensate Drains are available in several
different styles as well as different voltages. Our two most popular models are the TEC-11
and TEC-22
from Jorc
Industrial.
TEC-11 Timer Controlled
Condensate Drain - 230 to 300 psi

The TEC-11 unit consists of a solid-state
timer coupled to a solenoid valve and only requires a simple installation
procedure. The unit is designed exclusively for ALL compressed air filters,
regardless of their capacity or size.

The TEC-22 unit consists of a solid-state
timer coupled to a solenoid valve and only requires a simple installation
procedure. The unit is suitable for ALL compressed air system components
(aftercoolers, dryers, filters, pressure vessels and piping), regardless of
their size or capacity - simply adjust the interval and discharge times to
suit the particular compressed air system.
